Fela's catalogue to get reissued

Knitting Factory Records will be releasing the first set of Fela reissues on Feb. 16. The first set will be 6 discs (conatining 9 albums) from 1969-74.

"We are elated to finally ensure that Fela's entire catalogue is readily available to the general public, and in apropos packaging," says Knitting Factory Records' Ian Wheeler. "I'm also excited as a fan because it's great to offer a new generation the opportunity to discover Fela's sonic and lyrical progression from its earliest days."

The next group of reissues will come out sometime in spring.

here's what else I know:
  • Tony Sly & Joey Cape are teaming up for a split 7" on Fat Wreck. It's due March 2. Both musicians did the artwork for the other's song.
  • Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) has a short tour coming up. He's also finishing the mixing of his new solo album with pete Steinkopf (The Bouncig Souls)
  • Seabear is releasing We Built a Fire on Morr Music in March.
  • ^SiCk0^ is releasing his 4th album on Intolerance Records on Feb 14.
  • Snareburst is back together recording tracks for a new album tetatively titled Beta.
  • Wally Boy Wonder is set to release Day of the Rising Tide for Intolerance on Mar 3.
  • Kleenex/LiLiPUT is releasing Live Recordings, TV-Clips & Roadmovies on CD/DVD on KRS Mar 23. features unreleased video footage and a super-8 film from 1982. The Liliput 4 LP set will be re-released on May 18.
  • Cypress Hill has a new promise out: Rise Up now due April 6 and will feature Tom Morello. The album will come out on Snoops new label Priority Records.
  • Portugal. The Man has new dates up
  • Drink Up Buttercup's Born and Thrown on a Hook due Mar 23 on Yep Roc
  • Janus performing & talking on Rockline
  • New video from Freeway who's The Stimulus Package is due Feb 16
  • Dropkick Murphys Live on Landsdowne is due Mar 16
  • Look Mexico is releasing a new 7" on Suburban Home on Feb 23
  • Have Gun Will Travel is getting some help from Suburban Home, having their new album, PostCards From the Friendly City being reissued on Feb 9. It was previously self-released by the band.
  • Galaxie 500's albums Today, This Is Our Music & On Fire will be reissued in deluxe format on Domino on Mar 22.
  • The Long Winters have a new song to watch
  • These New Puritans' new album Hidden comes out on Angular (UK) on Jan 18
  • Antietam has a website for the first time in their 25 year history
