New Citizen Cope due Mar 2

Citizen Cope will release The Rainwater on March 2 (digital release due Feb 9) on RainWater Recordings, Inc.

Clarence Greenwood, the mastermind of Citizen Cope, produced the album, and is taking the show on the road this February. He enlisted artists like Preston Crump (OutKast), James Poyser (D'Angelo, The Roots), Bashiri Johnson (Whitney Houston, Madonna), Michael "Funky Ned" Neal and Paul "Buggy" Edwards for the new record slated for release on his own label.

per Greenwood: "It's pure," Greenwood says. "It's also the name of someone that was close to me when I was growing up, so it just made sense." "When you do the major cities, people come from all these other places and say, 'Come to this town,'" Greenwood says. "So the next time you tour you think, 'Okay, let's try Tulsa, Oklahoma or Oxford, Mississippi or Fayetteville, Arkansas.' It's been amazing, every year it just gets bigger and bigger."
