Bryce Dessner, guitar (The National), Rachael Elliott, bassoon, Thomas Kozumplik, percussion, Padma Newsome, viola make up Clogs.
Why do you care? their debut album, The Creaturs in the Garden of Lady Walton comes out March 2 on Brassland Records and in a strange twist, the record release show is 3 weeks later at NYC's The Bell House (Mar 24).
The album also features "extensive vocal work" from Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond, plus guests Sufjan Stevens, Aaron Dessner and Matt Beringer of the National.
To get a sense of what Clogs are about, you can download "Red Seas."
As for the record release show, Olof Arnalds and Julianna Barwick will join in the celebration, with Clogs wrapping everything up by playing the new album in its entirety. Word is there will be some special guests (look above, cough - just guessing) contributing. And on Mar 22, you can catch the band doing an interview/performance on WNYC - I'm not sure about a net stream, so you may have to look around that Monday.
