Finding Sarah Jaffe this May

Finding bright new musicians in Texas isn't exactly unusual. Whether it's the annual SXSW treasure trove, or the emerging artists native to Texas, there's alwasy someone to watch out for.

Which brings me to Sarah Jaffe. Jaffe released her first EP, Even Born Again back in 2008 to some good pub (mostly Texas papers). Now she's back. This time, the promise of greater impact is more likely with a full length, Suburban Nature, due in May on Kirkland Records. Probably doesn't hurt that John Gongleton (Polyphonic Spree, Explosions in the Sky) produced the disc.

“The EP has a very stripped-down minimal vibe, it’s an honest introduction. With Suburban Nature I wanted to stay true to what each song sounds like live, but add some layers.” – Sarah Jaffe

Jaffe is releasing the first single "Vulnerable" digitally this week. For more info on Jaffe or her new record/upcoming dates, check out her MySpace page or her home page.
