Beaters reissue of debut 7" may be best record cover of the year

Best record cover of the year (thus far) goes to San Diego's Beaters

How can you not want to know what they sound like???

The band formed in 2009 (following the break up of The Sess). Since then, they've released 2 7" records and a cassette tape EP and are self-described as "mutant punk"

This particular 7", "Fishage b/w Obamanation" is a rerelease of their debut 7" due on March 16 on Single Screen Records/Volar Records. They're even willing to give you "Fishage" for free.

i can't top that, but i'll try -
  • new dates from Woods/Real Estate
  • Stereogum has the lowdown on New Young Pony Club's new album, The Optimist due May 4 on Pias America
  • Thorp Records is giving away some CDs and shirts in a contest
