The Romany Rye get lots of help from Delta Spirit

grab your wikipedia or band2band or some type of sorting mechanism for this one -

The Romany Rye is the new project from Luke MacMaster (Colour). He recently went into the studio and penned a bunch of songs (Highway 1, Looking Back Carefully) and produced/recorded them with Delta Spirit's Kelly Winrich. MacMaster brought in a few friends from other bands to help out with the recordings, including Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), David Quon (We Barbarians) and Blake Mills. Since then, he's remade the band, using a lineup more suited for touring which now includes Judson Spillyards, Joshua Spillyards and Ryan Hitt from Christopher Denny's former backing band, The Natives.

As if that weren't enough, the band's recent exposure took a giant leap forward earlier this year when Kings of Leon's Matthew Followill hyped The Romany Rye as "the" new band to watch in NME's 2010 New Music issue.

Ok, now that the formalities are out of the way, let's introduce you to some songs.

Start up with a recent Daytrotter Session - reminds me a ton of Mumford Sons & Good Old War at this point.

Next, let's relook at that Delta Spirit connection above, because Romany Rye is opening the pending Delta Spirit tour.
