Megafun talking third release in as many years this Sept

megafaun
I think somebody forgot to tell Megafun that it isn't 1969 anymore (and I'm not just saying that because of their beards).

On Sept. 14, Megafun will put out their third release in as many years, as the "mini-album" Heretofore will see the light of day on Hometapes. The release marks the band's third album or mini-album since 2008, and the promise is to see the band back in the studio before the end of the year to record yet another album.

In case you're just dying to find out what to expect from the new album, I've got a free mp3 of "Volunteers" down below.

tracklisting
1. Heretofore
2. Carolina Days
3. Eagle
4. Volunteers
5. Comprovisation for Connor Pass
6. Bonnie's Song

here's "Volunteers" for you. A bit more country than I was expecting, but good grooves.

in case you were wondering -
  • interesting concept, a writer for the newspaper in Omaha (yeah, newspaper, what's that again) is doing a live blog from the Blitzen Trapper show tonight. Love the idea, but might have been smart to find out who the Moondoggies were before showing up.
  •        Paper & Plastic is promising a heavy load of releases for fall on Twitter
  • Metal Blade has a new podcast up featuring a Dio tribute and Richard Christy
